The University Purdue University Calumet, with roots dating back to the World War II era, is part of the internationally respected Purdue University system. In 1946, credit academic classes were first offered at the institution that has grown into Purdue University Calumet. The university is academically comprehensive with an enrollment of 9,600+ students. The Campus Purdue Calumet's 167-acre, 16-building, attractive neighborhood campus is located in Hammond, Ind., less than a mile north of Interstate 80/94, within three miles of the Indiana/Illinois state line and 25 miles southeast of downtown Chicago.
