Norfolk State, founded in 1935, is a public, historically black university. Programs are offered through the Schools of Arts and Letters, Business, Education, General and Continuing Education, Health-Related Professions and Sciences, Social Sciences, Social Work, and Technology. Its 134-acre campus is located in Norfolk, the center of the state's Tidewater region.
