Southern University and A&M College, founded in 1880, is a public, comprehensive institution. Programs are offered through the Colleges of Agricultural, Family, and Consumer Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Business, Education, Engineering, and Sciences; the Schools of Architecture, Nursing, and Public Policy and Urban Affairs; and the Graduate School. Its 884-acre campus is located in Baton Rouge.
