Naropa University is a four-year college that was founded in 1974 by Tibetan Buddhist Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche. It blends Eastern and Western educational philosophies, offering undergraduate and graduate programs in the arts, education, environmental leadership, psychology and religious studies. With just 464 undergraduate students, a student to faculty ratio of 12:1 and an average class size of just 13, Naropa gives its students personalized attention in a nonsectarian environment inspired by Buddhist principles. Naropa is also committed to sustainability: 100% of its electricity is generated by wind power.
