Tennessee State, founded in 1912, is a public, historically black university. Programs are offered through the Schools of Agriculture and Home Economics, Allied Health Professions, Arts and Sciences, Business, Education, Engineering and Technology, and Nursing. Its 465-acre main campus is located north of the center of Nashville.
